Recap Day 3: Pockets4Us

Texas State Innovation Lab encourages teams of creative problem-solvers solve social-impacting issues with technology and, you guessed it, innovation. Team members presented their projects on Sunday, March 10 to alumni and potential industry connections during SXSW.

Pockets4Us by Amanda Gregory aims to provide ethically sourced custom-tailored jeans to the consumer. The fabric is an eco-friendly hemp-cotton blend, the pockets are deeper than industry standard and crafted from scrap fabric that would otherwise find its way into the landfill. The end goal is a network of builders such that orders are fulfilled locally, reducing the carbon footprint tied to long-distance shipping. Amanda Gregory provides more information on her innovation.
