Preview: Water Quality Drifter at the TXST Innovation Lab

Having the opportunity to design a project with a team and then be able to showcase that project, as well as, the opportunity to sell your product is a big deal. The Texas State Innovation Lab allows for students to do just that, and also features how corporate sponsors are helping these students.

One group, sponsored by NASA, is hoping to wow spectators with their project. This team is developing a prototype that will provide water quality measurements at a low cost. The overall goal is to reproduce the design in to kits that will be used by environmental data collection, students and hobbyists.

The device, which is solar powered, will be able to continuously measure temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids and pH levels every 15 minutes.

The event is open to all SXSW Interactive Badge holders and special guests of Texas State.
