In the Uncovering the Story: PTSD Among Journalists panel, Chris, along with other panelists, will discuss the implications of PTSD in journalism, provide insight on ways companies can prevent PTSD, and help to bring overall awareness and knowledge of this issue. Many times PTSD is linked to individuals who have served in the armed forces, however, it can also stem from many other fields. Since journalists are often exposed to graphic and heinous crime scenes/accidents on a daily basis, these repeated exposures to crime and tragedy can have a negative effect on their daily lives. Chris and his fellow panelist hope to shed light on this during their SXSW panel.
