David Neff of PwC Advisory gathered a handful of non-profit professionals to briefly discuss some trends for the future of non-profits at a meet up “What is the Future of Non-Profits?” on the first day of SXSWi.
Neff said non-profits should start sending short snippets of information to adhere to millennials and generation Z’s online preferences. He said these generations will be the ones volunteering, eventually working for non-profits and donating later.
Rob Wu of Cause Vox, a crowd sourcing company, said the way to effective crowd sourcing for your non-profit is to tell a great story. He said rather than hiring employees with fundraising experience, non-profits should hire marketers who understand the concept of telling a captivating story and engaging online.
