Fourteen teams of Texas State students showed off their innovation projects at the Texas State Innovation Lab Reception on Sunday, held at the W hotel during the SXSW Interactive festival. The room was packed and attendees had the chance to get a look at game-changing technology inspired by student inventors.

One of the teams, led by College of Science and Engineering students Stephen Akanji, Migdalia Blanco, Daniel Caballero and Alex Rangel, are working together to build a solar car to compete in the American Solar Car Challenge. In an interview, students explain their project and the what is needed to build a solar car.
