Day four began with a blanket of fog and wet drizzle, but that didn’t stop SXSWers from enjoying the day. My first panel was a billed as a book signing, but the books were not in house yet! Charlie Fink came out to discuss his latest book Convergence, How the World Will be Painted with Data. The merging technologies of AR, VR and AI will create and explosion in innovation, and it’s just around the corner. I traveled the world at the Trade Show, marveling at innovations, start-ups and the many countries representing their technological and artistic companies.
The U.S. Department of Transportation hosted a panel discussion on accessibility and transportation for all. With approximately 20% of the U.S. population having a disability of some sort, accessibility is a very real issue. Maria Town, Bonnie Epstein, John Zimmerman and Vincent Valdez engaged in vital and lively discussion that it could well have lasted the rest of the day. The day ended with Megan and myself playing with Sony’s robot puppies and making a meme with Megan!
