Super Bowl protests flare up over plight of San Francisco’s homeless residents https://t.co/c1i1L6ilnE

Not hosting the Super Bowl has not hindered San Francisco’s attempt to turn itself into Super Bowl City. Despite the fact that the game will be played 45 miles away in Santa Clara, San Francisco has taken it upon itself to undergo a radical transformation for those who will be in the area for the game. This transformation is coming at the expense of many homeless individuals who are being forced out of their usual locations to make way for the spectacle. Protesters have made multiple arguments against the forced relocation, most notably that the large amount of money going toward the city’s temporary transformation into a haven for football fans could do wonders for San Francisco’s homeless population. In case you’re wondering what the mayor, Ed Lee, had to say about the homeless, it was this: “They’re going to have to leave.”

Hillary Clinton has long relied on the votes of feminists. This election cycle, however, some of them haven’t shown up. Bernie Sanders has lured many young feminists away from Clinton on the strength of his progressive credentials. The race between the two candidates continues to be agonizingly close.
