When Bob arrived to downtown austin he saw a peddicabber covered in fur skins, shirtless and wearing a cowboy hat he thought to himself this is the qunitessential “Keep Austin Weird I’ve heard about.”
Dan Khabee and Bob Thacker both agree. All advertising is party crashing, so if you’re going to crash the party bring a bottle of wine. The way that advertisers can do this is to be entertaining, inspiring and enlightening.
The idea of bringing something forward is frightening though and to often when people first bring an idea they have it judged and critiqued and bring down the quality of an original idea.
Some of the best and most informative points of the panel came from when Dan and Bob talked about how the rise of technology has led to the ability for brands to engage consumers and mulitple fronts and have the ability to speak with them.
Don't think about ads. They're so one dimensional.Think about brand-building: firing on all cylinders makes lasting conxns #partycrash #sxsw
