We all know that Social Media has immense power, but enough power to change storylines on TV shows and even who is cast them? Surely, those decisions are in the hands of the powers that be? Well, apparently, that power really is the people.
Lynessa Williams, a social media strategist and public relations professional along with Sherri Williams, an adjunct professor at Syracuse University who studies social TV and how people of color are represented on social media, gave an insight on the true power of social media in relation to TV programming, especially with regards to an incredibly influencial yet often over looked demographic – the African-American audience.
