Integrating technology into daily routine has been adopted by many different companies’ products in hopes of reaching consumers in a innovative way.
Some areas of interest in the convergence of the digital world and the real world discussed were the areas of gaming and health.
Location based gaming was the main focus of discussion about gaming.
Location based gaming overlays territory type game play onto what the user can see through a device with a camera such as a phone or handheld gaming platform.
“It is mix reality and uses the world as a gaming platform to make players think about what the experience might be like based on your current location,” said President and Co-founder of Ogmento Brian Selzer. “Territory is a good use to engage people into playing games.”
Selzer said the move towards a more physical interaction with tech will change how people will interact with tech even more so with the mobile experience.
Integrating tech into personal health through the applications accessories market like heart monitors on phones, Nike plus shoes, and other mobile device add-ons was another point of discussion.
“The retail market is accepting of these types of accessories,” said Vice President of PDP Mobile Peter Gould. “The more interesting stuff is that people are starting to capture physical data and putting into digital form.”
Gould said adding brands introduce new widgets and techs are good launch pad to introduce people to new app accessory technologies.
