This week I stopped by Gowalla Headquarters in downtown Austin to visit with CEO Josh Williams about his upcoming solo panel at SXSW Interactive.  Josh chatted with me about his talk, “Where Are We Going? The Future of Location,” a presentation in which he will examine how location based services (LBS) have evolved beyond the check-in and explore its future uses.

In addition to giving us a glimpse of his panel and how Gowalla’s plans to “bring it” during this year’s SXSW, Josh and I chatted about the international influence of LBS, how journalists and other influencers are using them, and Gowalla’s recent trip to Sundance.  Be sure to check out Josh’s panel on Monday, March 14 at the downtown Hilton.
