At SXSW 2010, Ed Hunsinger will try to help attendees answer the age-old question: How can I not be a douchebag at SXSW?
Hunsinger’s panel, with help from VioletBlue and John Adams, will be a core conversation at this year’s SXSW Interactive. The panel idea came from Hunsinger’s first time at SXSW.
“One of the things I noticed relatively quickly was that even though there were a lot of great people at SXSW, there were quite a few douchebags mixed in,” Hunsinger said.
Throughout the course of SXSW, Hunsinger and his friends began to identify certain behaviors that seperated attendees from the douchebags.
“I jokingly said I should give a talk. Fast forward a few months and I found myself actually submitting said talk,” he said.
Hunsinger’s panel will include such topics as business card etiquette, how to handle open bars and the proper way to self promote. Hunsinger hopes that attendees will come away with tips on what behavior he or she should avoid while enjoying SXSW.
“I imagine it will very quickly become a conversation as I’m sure a lot of people will have input on the subject matter,” he said.
Hunsinger’s panel will be held on Friday, March 12 at 5:00 p.m. in the Courtyard Rio Grande.
