For anyone who was wondering how to handle friendships, dating, sex or any general social situation when it comes to social networking then these are the panels that will help you in the confusing situations that can arise.
5. Networked Love, Bonding, Intimacy: Our Interactive Culture Clouds (3/12, 5:00 p.m.) – Evonne Heyning and Amoration will focus on how to arm attendees with the right tools to deal with complex social situations that might happen when business is mixed with social settings. This panel can answer such questions such as how does someone set good boundaries with new colleagues when meetings and parties mix?
4. How To Not Be A Douchebag At SXSW (3/12, 5:oo p.m.) – Ed Hunsinger of Free For All Media, Inc will teach attendees what actions and behaviors to avoid at SXSW if he or she doesn’t want to be considered a “douchebag.”
3. Seven Years in Online Dating (3/12, 3:30 p.m.) – The creation of the Internet eventually led to the creation of online dating. This has changed the way men and women across the world look for a partner and online dating seems to have its own set of rules for its users. Jonathan Beilin of the Web Ecology Project helps attendees understand the history of online dating, where it’s going and where online dating is headed in the future.
2. Cybersex 2.0: Is Social Networking Ruining Your Sex Life? (3/12, 5:00 p.m.) – The Internet and social networking has given users the ability to receive constant updates on a regular basis. This has ultimately changed the way we date and interact online. Dayna Clemons and Kristen Nicole, the panel presenters, will address whether dating has changed for the better or worse and how to date in the evolving world of the Internet.
1. Twitter and Dating in 140 Characters or Less (3/14, 5:00 p.m.) Melissa Smich of myhosting.com and Jeremy Wright of 76design is presenting attendees with this question: Can love blossom in 140 characters or less? Their panel is made up entirely of couples that have met and fallen in love via Twitter. Each couple will tell their story and give attendees tips and tricks to master “Twitter dating.”
