For those who want to get a head start on SXSW, the newly released iPhone application is the place to start. The feature rich app is a must-have scheduling and networking app that allows users to not only connect, but map out events and view nearby attractions.

The new app places the power to connect and share in the palm of event participant’s hands, equipping them with the technology solutions needed to stay connected and enjoy SXSW. With the app, users can use their iPhone to:

• Create and view a personal schedule of events;
• Map conference and festival events each hour;
• Exchange contact information with people you meet;
• Search events and view news.

The application was developed by The Social Collective and is powered by DUB, which specializes in the development of mobile applications for special events. The application gives users many of the same functions already available in other mobile applications but takes it a step further by integrating these existing technologies with the SXSW schedule. The application requires a DUB account which allows users to exchange contact data with others and automatically updates the contact information if it changes. The DUB account also allows for schedule synchronization between phone and web.
