Like any of the complex problems on the docket, there are both myriad threats and solutions for this issue that touches every corner of the globe. SXSW will host several events focusing on the environment, and below are the unmissable top 5. 


Agents of Mass Construction

How can moving films find success at the box office and ultimately make a positive impact on the environment? Filmmakers and environmentalists will team up to deliberate exactly how great media can ultimately influence the health of our globe. Mission Blue’s Sylvia Earle, Exposure Lab’s Jeff Orlowski, race car driver Leilani Munter, and academy award winner Louie Psihoyos will join together to discuss their works as well as how to turn audiences into agents for change.

There’s a great divide between those fighting to end climate change and those who do not believe it is an existing issue. Further, is the divide between the actions we are taking at the policy level and the actions we could be taking individually. Come to a solo session, led by Mark Chambers of New York City’s Office of the Mayor, to learn of their ambitious government action as well as the need for local support to catalyze citizens in this work to get to a safe climate.
