Preview: Austin – The New Gateway for International Startups

Silicon Valley is not only a beacon of innovation within the American technology scene.  Many of its most successful ventures have begun in the hands of international entrepreneurs who have made the Valley their second home in order to give their companies the best chance at success.

But as prices soar and innovation becomes a worldwide commodity, new cities are beginning to make their mark in the digital landscape.

Austin has been waiting.

In the upcoming panel: Austin: The New Gateway for International Startups, entrepreneurs of International origin share why and how Austin became their chosen arena.  George Koutitas, one of the participants, is a cofounder of Gridmates, a transactive cloud platform hoping to eliminate energy poverty by enabling peer-to-peer energy sharing.  Gridmates is a member of the International Accelerator, an Austin-based accelerator program focused on non-U.S. citizen founders and one of the many reasons why the city is attracting so many beginning their entrepreneurial journey.

SXTX State sits down with Koutitas to hear his thoughts on why the Texas capital is quickly becoming one of the busiest hubs in the tech sector.
