Preview – All Grown-up: Brand Mascots in the Digital Age

All Grown-Up: Brand Mascots in the Digital Age is a panel which will be presented by Emily Reid of IQ Interactive.  The purpose of this panel is to teach audiences how to utilize a brand character or mascot to leverage their power in the social and interactive world.  She will inform the audience on how to most effectively develop their mascot or character and what characteristics, personality and language should be used in order to gain the most buzz and attention.  Mascots and brand characters have been used in the past (think 1980’s) through a multitude of traditional media, but now we need to understand how to build these mascots to be suitable for the digital environment.

Mascots have played a huge role in the advertising and marketing world.  The soft little Snuggle bear, the famous, witty Geico lizard, Mr. Clean and Tony the Tiger have impacted their brands and consumers in an immense way.  Today, it is important that we take the power of a mascot and learn how to utilize these types of characters to enhance brands in the digital domain.
