Morning Bits: February 27

Looking for a touch of tech news this morning? Well, you may have come across this information as it hit the Web yesterday, but I found some “super secret” info about Digg that you may be interested in, along with a few other news items:

  • Tech Crunch posted an article concerning a new toolbar that Digg is developing.  This toolbar allows users to “Digg” or “Bury” the page they are currently navigating, and reveals the number of previous Diggs.  There is a “Related” tab that links simliar pages, and other new pages.  The “Random” tab operates similar to StumbleUpon, which shares Web sites that match personal preferences and suggestions.  The sites can be shared directly through social networks, and are automatically downsized for posting.  A condended URL is generated ith this posting function, comprable to TinyURL.  Rather than using the toolbar design, Digg has created a large i-frame that wraps around the Web page on the Digg.com domain.  Do you think the i-fram will be as effective as a regular toolbar?  Read the original article here.

  • Mashable released an article about their new feature with StumbleUpon that allows users to navigate, rate, and share pages of interest.  They have been working mashhon cleaning up their design and making navigation easier, and also created the tagline.”The Social Media Guide.”
  • We have all heard about the change in Facebook‘s terms of service and the comotion it has caused.  If you are a little confused, you can catch up by watching this CNN Tech video: Facebook Democracy.
